Understanding Pet Care in London
London’s density shapes pet ownership in ways that catch people out, even owners who’ve lived there for years. A few things tend to come up again and again:
- Flats or terraced homes with no private garden, which makes everything from toilet-training a puppy to giving an unwell cat a quiet space to recover that much harder.
- Busy roads, limited outdoor room and constant background noise that can affect your pet’s behaviour and wellbeing in ways that aren’t always obvious.
- Long commutes and packed schedules that make it difficult to take time off for a clinic visit every time something seems off.
- Shared parks and green spaces where pets mix closely with others, a common route for picking up fleas, worms and other seasonal parasites.
Knowing when a symptom is worth worrying about, and when it can safely wait, is one of the hardest parts of being a pet parent in London. From the City Centre to anywhere else across the capital, a quick online consultation gets you a professional opinion without bundling an anxious dog onto public transport or waiting days for a clinic appointment.
Why Vet Telehealth Works for Pet Owners in London
In-person appointments in London can be hard to come by, slow to arrange and rarely cheap. Getting there is often the bigger problem: putting a nervous cat into a carrier and navigating public transport across the city, or finding somewhere to park near a busy practice, can turn a routine concern into a stressful half-day out for both of you.
A PangoVet video call gives you a more useful starting point than a worried internet search. In 20 minutes, a qualified vet can assess your pet’s symptoms, give you a clear sense of how urgently to act, and send you a written summary of the conversation. That written record is genuinely useful: if you do decide to book a clinic visit, you already have a professional note of what was observed and what to watch for, which saves time and helps the in-person vet pick up where the call left off. All for £21.99, with no subscription and no app to install.
Online advice isn’t a replacement for hands-on emergency care. If your pet is seriously unwell or in distress, you should still contact a local in-person vet straight away. For everyday questions, second opinions and peace of mind, though, speaking to a vet online is often the fastest, least stressful way to get the help your pet needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a PangoVet consultation?
A PangoVet consultation is 20 minutes on a call with a veterinarian. After the consult, you’ll receive a personalised report via email that covers everything you and the vet discussed and any plans of action for you and your pet going forward.
What is the price of a PangoVet consultation in GBP?
What can I do if I want to send images to the vet from my phone or I don’t know how to upload images in the booking form?
This is not a problem at all; you can always send your images directly to our email account [email protected]. Just remember to write down your name and the name of your pet.
How do I prepare for the PangoVet consultation call?
It’s easy to prepare for your consultation. Just have your device ready. You can join the video call from your phone, computer, or tablet. When possible, we recommend finding a quiet area without a lot of background noise or distraction. You may choose to have your pet accompany you on all, part, or none of the call, but our vets may request to see them depending on the nature of the call.
How do I join the PangoVet consultation call?
Simply click the link we email you! When your appointment starts, your vet will admit you into the private virtual consultation.PangoVet uses a secure, browser-based video platform – no downloads required! You can join the PangoVet video call on your mobile, computer, or tablet.
Do I need to have my video on for the consultation?
No, you do not need to use the video feature in your virtual vet consultation. If you prefer, you can use only audio, though we do recommend you use your video for if your pet is present so we can offer you the best, most comprehensive support.
What can I expect during the call?
Our vets will ask you various questions pertaining to your specific concerns stated in your booking form. They will offer advice, or triage, and can help guide you through whatever the next steps are!
Can PangoVet issue prescriptions?
No — PangoVet doesn’t prescribe medication. In the UK, prescription medicines can only be prescribed by an RCVS-registered vet who has your pet under their care, and many medicines still require a hands-on examination. What we can do is help you understand whether your pet may need medication, what to ask your local vet, and what tests might be worth discussing — so you arrive at the clinic prepared. We can even help you decide whether an in-person visit is needed at all.
Should I go to the vet, or should I do a PangoVet teleadvice call?
For questions about your pets health, including advice on nutrition, behaviour, training, or general medical advice, we are here to help! We offer peace of mind, and can guide you through the process of how to best help your pet, and the actionable steps you can take to keep them happy and healthy! But, PangoVet is not a substitute for an in-person veterinary exam. If your pet is experiencing any life-threatening or emergency situation, please contact your local vet or an out-of-hours emergency vet.
Do you need to see the medical records of my pet?
No, at PangoVet we don’t need your pet’s medical records to have a video call with you and your pet.
How can PangoVet help my pet?
Our service provides veterinary advice, guidance, and triage. We are well-suited to help with your questions on pet health, nutrition, behaviour, and non-urgent illnesses. We have the time to discuss your questions in depth, which cannot always happen during an in-person clinic visit. We can also help you decide when and how urgently a trip to your vet clinic is necessary. And if needed, we can help you find a local vet near you, if you don’t already have one.
What services does PangoVet not provide?
Our vets cannot perform physical tests, make a diagnosis, or prescribe medications. We can provide veterinary advice, guidance, and help you prepare action plans for your pet for health, nutrition, behavioural, and non-urgent illness needs.
What regions is PangoVet not able to provide services to?
Our vets can speak with pet owners right across the UK.
At this time we are unfortunately not able to provide PangoVet services to customers in the following regions:
- Canadian province of Ontario
- Canadian province of British Columbia
This is because of legislation in the above-mentioned regions. We are hoping that they change their legislation soon so that we can provide our services to customers in those regions.
What should I do if I have more than one pet?
We love extended furry families! If you have questions on more than one pet, please book a separate consultation for each pet, so that we have the time to discuss each pet with the individual attention they deserve!
Why do I need to book in advance? Can I do an instant consultation?
We currently take advance bookings at certain times to allow us to best serve as many pets as possible. As we grow, so will our booking options!
What if I can’t find a slot that suits me? Can I book a consultation at a different time?
Of course. Just email us at [email protected] with your preferred time and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Will my PangoVet consultation call be recorded?
Your call will be recorded for quality and training purposes, and to allow our vets to review your pet’s history, to ensure they can send you the best personalised recommendations possible after the call.
